Curve: from cutting edge royalty calculation software to cutting carbon!
Why did we decide to become carbon neutral?
Curve recognises that action on climate change is critical and that now is the time for everyone to stand up and be accounted for. We only have one planet and it’s more important than ever that we cherish it, not just for our sake but for future generations too.
Despite the impact of the pandemic, sustainability remains a fundamental part of our business and of significant importance to our customers.
Curve has secured carbon neutral certification with Carbon Neutral Britain. Every year we will work with CNB to audit our carbon expenditure over the previous 12 months. We will then fund the planting of trees and other carbon offsetting projects to minimise our impact on the environment.
What is carbon neutrality? Good for the planet and its people
The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) lists carbon offsetting as one of the most impactful ways to tackle climate change.
Increased Carbon Dioxide (CO²) emissions in the atmosphere are one of the biggest causes of global warming and so by offsetting carbon footprints - with projects to remove CO² from the atmosphere - businesses & individuals can balance out their emissions to become Carbon Neutral.
Good for the planet and its people
While our priority with this initiative is to protect our beautiful earth, it is also a wonderful opportunity to support at risk communities. The funds from neutralising the carbon footprint will be providing low-carbon technology to communities most at risk of the impacts of climate change.
Neutrality is not enough!
But for us, neutrality simply isn’t enough! Our philosophy as a company has always been to go above and beyond and that’s no different when it comes to the planet. As our CEO Tom Allen explains:
“We all have a choice of how we behave, both personally and in business, and it’s our belief as a company that where we can make a small difference to the ongoing climate crisis, we should. So as a company, we’re choosing to put the planet ahead of profits, and ensuring we make the right choices for the longevity of our beloved Earth. We’re not only dedicated to offsetting the carbon we use as a company, but also making the best choices everyday to reduce our carbon footprint, from choosing where and how we travel, to which services we use to run our processing with green energy.”
So Curve has signed up to Carbon Neutral Britain. Every year we will work with CNB to audit our carbon expenditure over the past 12 months & then we will fund the planting of trees and other carbon offsetting projects to remove the CO² our day to day business creates.
The task of saving this planet is the greatest challenge humanity has faced yet. But by working together with businesses, governments and of course the public, we have every chance to protect mother earth and give back to a planet which has given us so much.
