Established in January 2019, Curve Royalty Systems was launched by former ADA/Warner, Cooking Vinyl and Essential Music executives, Tom Allen (President), Richard Leach (General Manager) and Ray Bush. Its royalty processing platform was built to deal with the scale and demands of music businesses in the digital age.

Meet the Team
Compatible with every possible data format and size, Curve has the ability to ingest an unlimited number of income statements each month, collating information from a variety of different distributors and sources. Transparency also being key, creators are provided with a login, giving them instant access to their statement balances and analytics.
Curve’s client base encompasses a variety of music recording and publishing businesses including Audiosalad, Cooking Vinyl Group, the Domino Recording Company, Hospital Records/Songs in the Key of Knife, Ingrooves, Mad Decent, NBCUniversal and Sky TV.
President

Tom Allen

Tom spent 10 years working in digital and royalties at various indie labels and distributors. In 2013 he founded Metable, a metadata and asset management platform for publishers and distributors. Metable delivered bespoke metadata solutions for large organisations such as The British Library along with many different labels. In 2019 Tom co-founded Curve with the goal of creating a market leading royalty solution with global reach. Curve’s founding principles of transparency and modernity for artists and businesses remain at the heart of company as it rapidly grows.

Richard Leach

A sales executive with a proven track record in global sales and distribution; Richard was headhunted by Curve in its infancy, to oversee sales and client growth. Passionate about the product and possessing frontline knowledge of the difference effective royalty software can make to a business; Richard continues to expand Curve’s ambitious client roster. In overseeing the client facing team, Richard places customer satisfaction and feedback at the heart of the company’s day-to-day operations.

Dite Brown

A development heavyweight, with over 20 years experience, Dite was recruited to Curve in 2020 from Cambridge University Press to oversee all technical operations. His experience in delivering within small organisations and multi-national corporations gives him a unique and valuable perspective from which to lead this area of the business.

Mhairi Palmer

Mhairi has over 16 years experience in managing royalties and rights at labels and publishers, including roles at Anthem Entertainment and Sony Music. Heading up Curve's North American sales, Mhairi is driven to help Curve's clients achieve everything they can from the platform.

Matthias De Rouck

Born in Belgium and currently based in London, bi-lingual Matthias has a masters degree in Business Economics as well as experience working in publishing and royalties in independent music. Matthias has brought a passion for client relationships and attention to detail to Curve, where he delivers a first-class support service to users of the platform. Matthias has extensive experience in a friction-free transfer over to Curve, so that new users can quickly settle into their new royalty solution and start enjoying the benefits.

Soufiane Sakhi

Soufiane joined the team in 2021 as a Senior Developer and is now our Lead Engineer. With a history of working with complex systems and developing modern web applications, he brings with him a depth of understanding for how we can continue to improve Curve.

Gelo Zafra

Based in The Philippines, Gelo has extensive experience in managing quality assurance processes and was recruited to Curve to consistently improve the reliability of the software. Gelo has a deep knowledge of both manual and automated QA processes and brings attention to detail and a drive for excellence to our technical team.

Technical Product Owner

Marco Giuliani

Marco is possibly the Curve team member with the most diverse career to date. He is currently a Technical Product Owner at Curve after initially joining the company as a Senior Developer, but he used to be a professional footballer. After leaving the sport behind he has gained 20 years of experience developing data driven applications for various government organisations and universities. He also spent two years travelling across Europe in a campervan before eventually settling in Spain, where he lives now.

Luke Rynne Cullen

A product manager by day and startup founder by night, Luke is working across both Curve & FUGA to advance payments & royalties in Downtown Music Holdings. He was named as the founder of one of Ireland's '100 Hot Start-Ups' with his music bookings startup, Applaud, & was included in Ireland's '30 Under 30' list. To date, he has taken part in programs like Google's Adopt a Startup & Enterprise Ireland's New Frontiers and has also won the Blackstone LaunchPad Sprints & the Trinity's Dragons Den competitions. A violinist by trade, Luke is also a former manager of Trinity Orchestra and has played alongside the likes of Hozier.

Britt Timmerman

Britt has a background in Publishing and started her career at Dutch collection society BUMA/STEMRA in their Event Licensing team. When a role for a Dutch speaking Copyright position came up at Kobalt Music Publishing, she left the Netherlands and moved to the UK, going on to work in both the Copyright and Royalties teams. Britt brings her knowledge of publishers and societies to Curve, where she first worked in a role as Sales & Client Manager before becoming a Project Manager.

Sam Spainhower

LA based Sam spearheads the US client hub. Sam has over a decade of experience in the music industry and before coming to Curve, worked as royalty analyst in America’s number one business management firm. Sam brings his passion and knowledge to Curve’s growing US customer base in the form of one to one, bespoke royalty support.

Arjun is a dynamic and driven software developer with a lot of up close experience with royalty systems. Previous roles at The Music Royalty Company and Warner Music UK, made him a great fit for enhancing Curve’s platform across existing and new features. Arjun understands the importance of delivering timely royalties with ease and he is passionate about the ‘best in class’ service which Curve offers its clients.

Samual Holmes

Samual joined the Curve Dev team as a Data Engineer, and is now a Technical Lead (Platform). He has 6 years experience working in both front end and back end roles, with a specialty in re-architecting old monolithic applications into robust cloud solutions. Having previously worked at private companies that handle large amounts of data for casinos and the energy sector, Samual now brings his big data knowledge to the Curve team.

Based in Amsterdam, Robert is originally from Scotland and is another addition to our accidental group of Scottish employees! Robert has a degree in Physics and has over ten years of experience working across different industries. Based in Toronto, Siddhant brings years of first-hand experience as a former Curve user to deliver efficient solutions and smooth onboarding to new clients. Sidd's prior experience in the recorded music industry ranges from managing royalties, digital distribution, anti-piracy and public policy in the US, Canada and India.

Roula Kouti

Roula enriches the client management team with her varied experience across the music industry. Roula previously worked at Orfium and Orfium Music Rights Greece in their Copyright and Documentation Departments. Prior to this, she worked at Kobalt Neighbouring Rights (now Kollektive Neighbouring Rights) as a Society Relations Senior Assistant. Roula has a BA in Marketing and an MA in Music Management.

Silvia Olivieri

Based in Italy, Silvia has eight years of experience in music rights management and has collaborated with publishing companies, record labels, and distributors, understanding their needs in rights management and royalty distribution. She underwent a Music Business Management MA from Westminster University in London where she began her journey in copyright through a collaboration on Imogen Heap's Life of a Song research project. She then worked at Kobalt Music Publishing for three years and then moved back to Italy to join the Musixmatch team before joining Curve. She is passionate about fairness in music and ensuring that artists and rights holders receive the royalties they deserve.

Onboarding Manager

Stephen Monk

Stephen has joined Curve's Client Management team as an Onboarding Manager. He has a BA in Popular Music and an MA in Ethnomusicology. After completing his studies, Stephen started his career in the music industry in 2019 at Sentric Music where he worked as a Copyright Assistant and eventually got promoted to Copyright Manager. In this role Stephen was overseeing all of Sentric's B2B clients, specialising in sub-publishing, copyright data and work registrations. Stephen brings an understanding of music publishing processes to the team to assist Curve's clients as they're onboarding onto the platform!

Sarah Harralson

Based in Nashville, this Tennessee native has joined the team as the second USA based client manager. Sarah has a BBA in Music Business from Belmont University, and has worked in music licensing at BMI, and more recently, comes from working in catalog artist royalties at Warner Music Group. She uses her experience and passion for music to assist professionals and creatives with their royalties.

Lateefah Brown

Lateefah has joined the Curve team as a Sales Administrator based in London. She has 5+ years of experience working across industries in TV Production, Digital Marketing and coordinating projects in translation. She is a creative at heart and is passionate about all things music, which she channels as a DJ and radio presenter in her spare time. Lateefah also dedicates her time as a trustee for a music charity in her community.
